c3:initiative is dedicated to providing resources to scientific, literary, community-centered, and artist-driven projects through two distinct campuses (one urban, one rural) in Portland and Colton, Oregon. Each locale and its accompanying resources provides a unique opportunity for immersive research, additional studio space, connection to a local creative business, or a live-in makers retreat. Details on past residents and the development of their projects are available below:
c3:initiative's flagship campus, located in the St. John’s neighborhood of Portland, OR, invites thinkers of various disciplines to engage regional community groups and cultural institutions in the creation of new work. Taking the form of exhibition, publication, or localized event, invited participants are supported from gestation to execution of projects invested in critical, contemporary issues. Residencies on the Portland campus are ideal for proposals which will rely on activation from urban resources and larger audiences.
c3:initiative's rural campus, located in Colton, OR, provides thinkers of various disciplines an opportunity for secluded research, reflection and wellness retreat. Invited participants are similarly supported in proposals of self care, inquisitive labor, emotional labor, and considerations of the natural world. Residencies on the Colton campus are ideal for projects which rely on limited administrative support.
